East Middle School is blessed to have a partnership with the United Way.  They contribute to social-emotional educational initiatives, facilitate partnerships with local businesses, and provide community engagement. The United Way supports East Middle by funding programming and providing resources such as food, clothing, hygiene products, and numerous other gifts and services that are accessible to scholars through our school care closets.

Care Closets are resource rooms that offer onsite support for our scholars by providing access to food, clothing, and hygiene products.  The ultimate goal of these Care Closets is to eliminate barriers our scholars face daily so they can focus on learning and achieving goals within the classroom. United Way promotes a holistic approach to student success. 

The team at the United Way has been instrumental in assisting scholars at East Middle School to maintain and uphold our Universal Expectations: Be Responsible, Be Respectful, and Be Safe.  Recently, the United Way provided crewneck sweatshirts for the entire student body with a picture of our Golden Bear and our Universal Expectations, which helped increase our positive school climate & culture. They also provided other holiday gifts for scholars who were in need or consistently followed the Universal Expectations.

The timeliness, compassion, and genuine concern that the United Way shows is immeasurable. East Middle School is grateful for the support of the United Way and looks to continue building ties with them to aid in a better future for our scholars and the CityofYOU.
